Who Needs Sugar?
This delicious parfait is packed with flavor, healthy nutrients and has no added sugar
It is overcast in Washington, DC, and has been raining off and on all day. Like many, I am doing taxes and picking up what the dogs left me in the yard.
I needed a cheery late-afternoon snack and thought it would be fun to try something different than afternoon tea.
Voila! An idea struck.
I added a Sumo tangerine, 1 pint of blackberries, and two chopped kiwis to a small blender. Then I dug out a water glass that I inherited from my wonderful, late mother-in-law.
Next, I layered the fruit sauce with Greek yogurt, topped it with some slivered almonds and a little All-Bran for crunch, plus a grape on top.
The result? A delicious—and nutritious—treat, filled with protein, fiber, and flavor with NO ADDED SUGAR that has lifted my spirits and made me actually want to work out after all. What could be better than that?

This looks really good! I can’t have dairy, but I would stir in hemp seeds (10 grams protein in 3 Tbsp) to plant-based yogurt
Excuse me, but "like many, I am doing taxes..."? Please come over to my house, Sally, and do my taxes for me, okay? But the fruit parfait does sound delicious!
